Reelto India ("Reelto", "we", "us", or "our") operates the platform at reelto.in — a marketplace that enables Indian ethnic wear creators to sell their products via WhatsApp-native checkout.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store and protect personal information when you use our platform as a seller (influencer) or as a buyer.

• Providing the service: Processing orders, sending WhatsApp notifications, managing your store
• Verification: Verifying your Instagram account and UPI ID to ensure platform quality
• Payments: Facilitating direct UPI payments between buyers and sellers. Reelto does not hold or process payments — all payments go directly to the seller's UPI ID
• Communication: Sending order updates, drop alerts, dispute notifications, and platform announcements via WhatsApp and SMS
• Trust and safety: Detecting fraud, enforcing our policies, and resolving disputes
• Analytics: Understanding how the platform is used to improve our product
• Legal compliance: Meeting our obligations under Indian law

Reelto facilitates direct UPI payments between buyers and sellers. We are not a Payment Aggregator and do not hold, process, or store payment card data.

Payment subscriptions (seller plans) and drop credit purchases are processed by Razorpay. Razorpay's privacy policy governs the collection and processing of payment information for these transactions.

Seller UPI IDs are stored to facilitate buyer payment links. We never debit or credit any seller UPI account without explicit seller action.

We use WhatsApp Business API (via Interakt) to send transactional messages including order confirmations, shipping updates, and drop alerts.

By providing your WhatsApp number during checkout or opting into a seller's drop alerts, you consent to receiving these messages.

You can unsubscribe from drop alerts at any time by replying STOP to any drop alert message.

Transactional messages (order confirmations, shipping updates) cannot be opted out of as they are essential to the service.

When sellers sign up, we verify their Instagram profile using publicly available data via an authorised scraping service (Apify). We collect:

• Public follower count and post count
• Public engagement metrics (likes, comments)
• Profile completeness (bio, profile picture)
• Account age and activity level

We do not access private Instagram data, DMs, stories, or any information not publicly visible on the Instagram profile.

Sellers who opt in to comment automation connect their Instagram account through our automation partner (via Instagram's official OAuth authorisation, shown at the time of connecting). For sellers who use this feature, we additionally access:

• Public comments on the seller's own Instagram posts, to detect keyword matches and trigger the automated public reply and DM the seller has configured
• A list of the seller's own recent posts and their public comment counts, so the seller can pick a specific post when setting up a per-post automation

We do not read or access private messages, DMs, or inbox conversations on Instagram through this connection. All buyer-facing conversations happen through our own WhatsApp messaging, described in Section 5.

We share your data only as necessary:

• Between buyers and sellers: Buyer name, phone, and delivery address are shared with the seller to fulfil orders
• Service providers: Supabase (database), Vercel (hosting), Interakt (WhatsApp), Razorpay (payments), Apify (Instagram verification), Google (Vision API), MSG91 (SMS). All are bound by data processing agreements
• Legal requirements: When required by Indian law, court orders, or regulatory authorities
• Business transfers: In the event of a merger or acquisition, with prior notice

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

All data is stored on secure servers hosted by Supabase (AWS infrastructure). We implement:

• Row-level security (RLS) on all database tables
• Encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all data transmission
• Regular automated backups
• Access controls limiting data access to authorised personnel only

No system is 100% secure. If you suspect unauthorised access to your account, contact us immediately at privacy@reelto.in

• Active accounts: Data retained for the duration of your account
• Closed accounts: Data retained for 3 years for legal and financial compliance
• Order records: Retained for 7 years (GST compliance requirement)
• WhatsApp messages: Retained for 1 year for dispute resolution purposes

Under Indian data protection laws, you have the right to:

• Access: Request a copy of your personal data we hold
• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data
• Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data (subject to legal retention requirements)
• Portability: Receive your data in a machine-readable format
• Objection: Object to processing of your data for marketing purposes

To exercise any right, email privacy@reelto.in. We will respond within 30 days.

We use minimal cookies necessary for the platform to function:

• Authentication cookies: To keep you logged in
• Preference cookies: To remember your settings

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though this may affect platform functionality.

Reelto is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us their information, please contact us immediately.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered sellers via email or WhatsApp when we make material changes. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
